#Repost @elliebell_coaching The shoulder muscles can be challenging to strengthen for women.

Women tend to have less muscle mass and lower upper body strength compared to men, and the shoulder muscles may require more targeted effort to build strength.

Women produce lower levels of testosterone than men, which is a key hormone for muscle growth and strength.

There is often a greater emphasis on lower body exercises for women rather than upper body exercises.

Anatomical differences such as wider hips and narrower shoulders can sometimes lead to different muscle activation patterns and strength imbalances in the upper body.

Improving shoulder strength in women requires targeted strength training exercises that specifically engage the shoulder muscles, such as overhead presses, lateral raises, and rows.

The shoulder muscles play a crucial role in supporting and stabilizing the upper body, which can have a direct impact on posture.

When I first started incorporating shoulder exercises , I felt I would never progress, however with patience, consistency and perseverance I’m beginning to feel the benifits of staying on track and following my programme.

  • Breaking the trend for two minutes 👀 and showing the importance of resistance training. (We love running loads too don’t worry)

#REPOST @dalebutlerpt

MORE DETAILS BELOW 👇 🏋️‍♀️

5 Reasons you should start hitting the gym from today!!!

1. Stronger, Bigger, More Defined Muscles
💪🏽: Resistance training helps build lean muscle mass, boosting your metabolism and sculpting your body. (Muscle mass requires more calories to be maintained that fat mass) So hit the gym for a improved physique and increased calorie burn even at rest! 🔥

2. Improved Bone Health 🦴🍆: (Im not talking about THAT bone health 👀😂 although resistance training does have benefits there to let’s keep it PG for now) As we age, maintaining strong bones becomes crucial. Resistance training stimulates bone growth and helps prevent osteoporosis, ensuring you stay strong and resilient.

3. Enhanced Mental Well-being 🧠: Exercise isn’t just for the body—it’s for the mind too! Resistance training releases endorphins, the feel-good hormones, reducing stress and anxiety while boosting your mood.

4. Increased Functional Strength 🏋️‍♀️: Whether it’s lifting groceries or playing with your kids, resistance training improves your ability to perform daily tasks with ease, keeping you active and independent.

5. Better Sleep Quality 😴 : Struggling to catch those Zzz’s? Regular resistance training can improve sleep patterns, helping you feel more rested and rejuvenated each day.

So don’t put off to tomorrow what you can do today!! Go the mf’ing gym 💪🏽
